I bought this book after seeing it in the Daily Mail. My grandmother suffers from dementia and this book has been a real help, it is written in an easy to understand style without too much technical jargon. I have found the book interesting, helpful and good value at £8.99.

This book was absolutely brilliant! It goes into what dementia is and also the various ways it affects the individual diagnosed with dementia and also the carer and family. It gives a good level of scientific information and also various ways to deal with and cope with any of the symptoms of Dementia and goes much further than just the physical affects of the disease, bringing in how it may affect all aspects of the individuals and carers life. It also gives a good list of resources if you want more information and also a section for external sources who can give help and guidance for anyone affected by the disease.I am a Pastoral Worker and although I am not a first hand carer for anyone suffering from dementia, it gave me a great understanding of what a dementia patient may be dealing with and how to help and support them. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about dementia as it is written at a perfect level where the information presented is easy to understand and also can be easily applied to any situation you may know of where someone is suffering from dementia. It was also delivered within the time frame stated.

Clear, to the point and relevant. It gave me to information I needed in appropriate detail. It didn't sugar-coat dementia, but equally it wasn't all doom and gloom either.
